The Allotment Community
As Harlow Hill Allotments is a self-managed site, we rely on our plot holders to help to keep the allotment site running smoothly. There are lots of ways in which you can make a difference:

-
Attend Work Weekends, which are held in March and October each year to tackle some of the major maintenance jobs such as improving the drainage or cutting the hedges.
-
Join one of the three teams that cut the main rides on site.
-
Help in the Allotment Shop - join the rota and serve in the shop on a few Saturdays during the year.
-
Help at the Open Day - provide some plants, make a cake, help on the stalls.
-
Help on the Harlow Hill stall at the Harrogate & District Allotment Federation Show - for the last few years we have run the tombola stall.
-
Keep your plot tidy and weed-free, with the paths around it cut and edged off.
-
Report any Health & Safety issues or other problems that you see on site. Please email the secretary on hhaa.sec@gmail.com
-
Join the Allotment Committee, if you've got more time to offer. Elections are held at the AGM in March each year.
-
Donate any surplus fruit and vegetables to Resurrected Bites, by leaving them in the yellow boxes by the Allotment Shop. They are taken to Resurrected Bites on Tuesday mornings.

Picnic -on-the-Plot
Each year, weather permitting, we aim to hold a picnic in August/September to celebrate our gardening successes, share some food and swap any excess produce. Look out for details later in the year.
